«Archipelago: the stuff of nostalgia» is a text series composed for the catalogue of the Greek participation to the 10th International Architecture Exhibition «Biennale Architettura«, held in Venice from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19, 2006. The Biennale Architettura is directed by Richard Burdett and dedicated to Cities. Architecture and society.

The Greek participation is dedicated to «The Dispersed Urbanity of the Aegean Archipelago». Comissioners are Lois Papadopoulos and Elias Constantopoulos. Curators: Elias Constantopoulos, Korina Filoxenidou, Katerina Kotzia, Lois Papadopoulos. Venue at Greek Pavilion at Giardini.

My contribution, translated to English by Ms Hillary Kyriazis, constists of the title text «Archipelago: the stuff of nostalgia» and the Appendix, that is texts for islands Mykonos, Dilos, Tinos, and Sifnos.

Το «Αρχιπέλαγος: Η ύλη της νοσταλγίας» είναι μια σειρά κειμένων δημοσιευμένων το διάστημα 2003-2006, που ανασυντέθηκαν με προσθήκη της τιτλώνυμης επιτομής, για τον κατάλογο της ελληνικής συμμετοχής στην 10η Μπιενάλε Αρχιτεκτονικής στη Βενετία (10 Σεπτ. – 19 Νοεμ. 2006).
Η 10η Biennale Architettura τελούσε υπό την διεύθυνση του Richard Burdett και ήταν αφιερωμένη στις πόλεις: «Cities. Architecture and society».Η ελληνική συμμετοχή ήταν αφιερωμένη στις «Διάσπαρτες πόλεις του Αιγαίου». Επίτροποι ήταν οι Λόης Παπαδόπουλος και Ηλίας Κωνσταντακόπουλος. Επιμελητές, οι Ηλ. Κωνσταντακόπουλος, Κορίνα Φιλοξενίδου, Κατερίνα Κοτζιά, Λ. Παπαδόπουλος. Χώρος φιλοξενίας, το Ελληνικό Περίπτερο, στα Giardini.Η σειρά «Αρχιπέλαγος: Η ύλη της νοσταλγίας» απαρτίζεται από το ομότιτλο συμπύκνωμα, με την προσθήκη ενός άτυπου παραρτήματος· είναι κείμενα με αφετηρία και προορισμό τα νησιά Μύκονο, Δήλο, Τήνο και Σίφνο.
